End of year teacher thank you notes…
End of year teacher thank you notes…
Ok, so most of you know I LOVE to shop and I REALLY LOVE to snag a good deal.
Well, last year one of the big box craft stores was having a routine clearance sale and I spied several packs of colorful monogram initial notecards. (Mind you they were all in the initials that weren’t very popular.) Anyhow I snapped up several packs of 8 cards for 50 cents each and stuck them into my stash. Fast forward to earlier this month when I realized that the end of the school year was rapidly approaching and I hadn’t designed my usual “end of year” note cards for the kids teachers. I realized that I was very pressed for time and decided to use the premade cards and simply cover them with a coordinated piece of decorative paper or decorative cardstock. I also attach a matted computer printed sentiment and ribbon and “viola” instant gifts!
I made 40 of them in less than 2 hours. The longest and hardest part of the whole thing was deciding what decorative cardstock/paper to use! I will be giving each teacher a nice little “rainbow assortment” of colors/designs. Now, I just have to keep my eyes open for more clearance deals
This is the first batch…

Retiring Colors Alert from SU!
Retiring Colors
Just wanted to post a quick note... if you are thinking about placing an order for products in retiring colors, please place your order as soon as possible. The demand for some of our retiring colors is greater than anticipated and they're going very very fast.
For re-inkers in retiring colors, as current supplies run out, order requests will be placed on backorder status and those orders will be filled as quickly as product is received. Stampin' Up! will continue to do this to the best of their ability through May, and then the re-inkers will be available ONLY while supplies last in June.
For card stock in retiring colors, as current supplies sell out, Stampin' Up! will substitute textured paper for some of the smooth colors--including card stock in 8-1/2" x 11" as well as 12" x 12"--at no additional charge where the smooth is no longer available. If you receive a package of card stock that is textured instead of smooth, there will be a sticker on the package indicating that change.
My advice is to order now if there's a product in a color that you can't live without and make sure you are fully stocked/over stocked in what you like :)
Remember you can order 24x7 from my website at www.juliesaylor.stampinup.net

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all my friends! Hope you have a wonderful day!
Yesterday was DD's 1st Holy Communion and it was beautiful. We had family, friends and my children's Godparents at the ceremony which made it all the more special. From that we went to the reception held in the parish hall and DD had her photos done and I can't wait to see them. It was homeward bound at that point with my hubby then having to drive to Hagerstown, MD to get a special "paint sprayer" for the house. Then we all met in the evening for a celebratory dinner at the local Chinese Buffet.
Today they are taking me out to an early lunch and then hubby is going to try to work on painting the garage doors (if the winds aren't too bad.) I need to run to the mall (gotta use that "free" money from JC Penney's!) and DD needs to deliver some of the crafts we did at her bday party to the girls. (They painted plates and wove ribbon through them. I had to finish them off with a sealant on them and add a picture in the middle. The plan had been to put a group picture in the middle but the group picture was too wide and didn't look correct, so I put a picture of each girl with DD in the center. The photo can easily be removed and the girls can add another picture so it works well.
