Ok, so most of you know I LOVE to shop and I REALLY LOVE to snag a good deal.
Well, last year one of the big box craft stores was having a routine clearance sale and I spied several packs of colorful monogram initial notecards. (Mind you they were all in the initials that weren’t very popular.) Anyhow I snapped up several packs of 8 cards for 50 cents each and stuck them into my stash. Fast forward to earlier this month when I realized that the end of the school year was rapidly approaching and I hadn’t designed my usual “end of year” note cards for the kids teachers. I realized that I was very pressed for time and decided to use the premade cards and simply cover them with a coordinated piece of decorative paper or decorative cardstock. I also attach a matted computer printed sentiment and ribbon and “viola” instant gifts!

I made 40 of them in less than 2 hours. The longest and hardest part of the whole thing was deciding what decorative cardstock/paper to use! I will be giving each teacher a nice little “rainbow assortment” of colors/designs. Now, I just have to keep my eyes open for more clearance deals 

Teacher Appreciation Gifts - Round 4

The kids had TEACHER APPRECIATION for their respective teachers last week. Each day was a different theme for the day. On Monday, they brought in a vase with fresh flowers - sorry - no pictures of those!

Tuesday was the day for "edible treats" for the teachers. I gave the suggestont to parents the choice of "fresh fruit" or any "edible treat". This is what I came up with. It's a cute plastic see through "paint can", complete with its very own "washer" to open or "POP" the lid off. The can lid is a metallic blue color. I cut out a scallop and just wrote a quick note to the teacher and stuck it on top....(it is not meant to be part of the package, so that's why it doesn't color coordinate.) It also mentions to the teacher to "save the empty can" since she will need it for Friday's treats.

Then, I filled the tin with a special bag of "thank you" Hershey Kisses, a special bag of gourmet M&M's that are a marbled blue metallic color, and finally some mint reception sticks wrapped in silver. I tried to stay with the blue/silver theme for the treats. I then quickly used my cuttlebug and SU Sizzix Dies to cut out some flowers and stuck them on the can/container. I also tied on some ribbons to the metal handle. SUPER SIMPLE & QUICK.

Continuation of cards....These are some of the cards that I included in a teacher appreciation gift for one of the CCD teachers. I was able to get 10 cards done super fast after my last stamp camp. I started on the cards at 11:30pm and finished before 1am. (The 2 things that took me the most time were cutting out the stained glass images and then locating a decent coordinated ribbon.) Thankfully I still have a HUGE bag from my trip last year to a ribbon outlet. All of the non-grosgrain ribbon came from the outlet. I plan to head back up there in the early summer and will let you all know when I go :)

Teacher Thank you gifts

These are the cards that I made multiple sets of for my kids teacher's to close out the school year. I also made a class album (in triplicate) for my daughter's Kindergarten teachers. (The reason it is in triplicate is because when I showed my daughter what I had started, she wanted one too!) I won't put pictures of the album up on my blog due to the kids pictures/names, but if you want to check it out, just ask to view it at one of my stamp camps! It was VERY simple and used a ton of clip art, quotes and a smidgen of stamping.

Anyhow, back to the thank you notes, I stuck with the same design and chose coordinating color schemes and added glitter glue to the roses for the sparkle. The note cards are actually blank store-bought sets by Martha Stewart. I loved the fact that they have a bit of a sheen to the border of them and are smaller than the standard size card. I picked most of the colors of the flowers by utilizing my color wheel and the "dynamic duo" area in the center. It is fantastic!
