What is it? A picture frame project...

In honor of the snow/sleet/freezing rain we just had, here's a little something from back in December. This was a craft project I did with a group of Girl Scouts. Pretty quick and easy. Due to time constraints (and the fact that they were stamping some holiday cards too,) I went ahead and painted all of their frames white prior to their arrival.

After they got here, they punched the snowflakes in various shades of blue and attached them to the frame. Then they accented with a few crystal gems/jewels. The final touch was using some Elmer's glue to create a few lines/wavy designs/dots as accents and then cover them in shimmery white chunky glitter to simulate snow and tap off all of the extra. (Just like being back in grade school!!) Then the hard part was to wait and just let them sit and dry and make sure the girls took them home and let them sit and dry for a good 24-48 hours. Then they were advised to take them outside and gently brush off any loose/excess glitter that still remained.

Easy Peasy and the girls LOVED them.

Stamp Camp cards are all done - are you coming to camp?

The stamp camp cards for Friday night are all done. I have a great assortment of cards for you at this camp. There's a masculine card that could either be a Birthday or Father's Day or Sympathy, A Springy card that could be birthday, Mother's Day or Easter, there's a St. Patrick's Day card, a flowery card (again - it could use ANY sentiment for anything), and finally a card that doesn't have a sentiment on the front so it could be used for just about anything...even a note card. It DOES feature a neat technique called the Rock "n" Roll, so you will be testing that out.

Stay tuned...I will start posting pix on either Thurs or Friday of what we are making :)

Thank you notes Girl Scout Cookies

DD knows she has to write T-you notes to all of the people that bought Girl Scout cookies from her. Last night she sat with me to actually tell me what she wanted them to look like (colors/design wise) and this was the end result. Nice, bright and colorful! If you haven't bought your cookies yet (or would like to buy more!), just let me know and we can place an order for you and get them from the Girl Scout Cookie Cupboard!

Kids Valentine Project # 2

We did a 2nd Valentine Themed Tin at my kids class this month.
This one started out as a simple and plain red tin.
We punched/layered two hearts on the top and added a little circle sentiment piece.
Then we wrapped a strip of coordinating decorative paper around the tin.
Next we added the little circle sentiments to each of the pieces of candy inside the tin.
Super simple and quick and makes a cute little "extra special" treat for someone.

Kids Class Valentine Project 1

Here's the project we did at my kids class this month. Valentine themed.
Covered Nugget Tin/Box. The kids could decorate the tin with jems/jewels if they desired or use them on the belly band or the candy inside....
(not a whole lot of time to go crazy, but you can easily add more with punches/other paper/embellishments etc.) DD is giving hers to her teacher :)

Call of Duty Black Ops Birthday Card - no stamping - super quick

This is what happens when your kids and their friends start to "outgrow" stamped cards and/or they are only into video games or (if you are lucky...a sport). So, last weekend B. needed a card for his friends B-day. They are both massively into this video game...so naturally that is what the card theme was and the kids all got to go to a place where they can play the games online with a bunch of other kids. Anyhow, I totally wimped out and grabbed some clipart from the web with the Call of Duty picture and then since I had to print the clipart anyhow, I figured I might as well type the sentiment. I picked this font since it was a bit bolder/more masculine. Just printed it out, cut to size/mat it with the accent c/s and of course run a mat layer through the Cuttlebug machine. Easy Peasy and done in less than 5 mins. from start to finish. This is just what I needed since I have been sick with some bronchial "thingy" for over a week and 1/2 and am just now starting to feel a little bit better. Big B. had the same thing only his went into a sinus infection and he's on Antiobiotics now. Mine is finally diminishing on it's own. YAY!
