Wedding

From my archives...Quite awhile ago I was commissioned to create some simple wedding cards, so I went into my stash and pulled out stuff and viola...this is what I came up with.

Stipple Butterfly

I didn't get time to stamp anything that I am ready to share yet, due to the fact that I am preparing for a HUGE swap with my fellow SU Demo's. So, these are 2 cards that I pulled from my very early days of SU. I think that they are at least 5 years old (hence the simplicity of them), but then again, sometimes simple is better. Plus, I love the look of that butterfly. In fact I love it so much, I still have that stamp set in my stash!

The stamp is long retired by SU, it is called Stipple Butterfly.

For both of the cards, it looks like I did some very light watercoloring. Probably using either a paintbrush or the aquapainter and pulling the ink color from the ink that has "pooled" in the top of the lid after "smooshing" the lid onto the pad.

5 years...

Know what this is? It's my 5 year pin (still in plastic) that I earned last week from Stampin' Up! I just got it in the mail, along with a nice congratulations letter from SU. Who would have thought that time would fly by SO FAST. I remember signing up to be a demo like it was yesterday - (you know how that goes...I only signed up to get the discount and look at where I am now!) I have a growing downline and have made a ton of fantastic local and online stamping friends. Thanks for helping me grow!!

Viola!

Love this card feauturing the Viola set and Taking care of business set. It shows how you can easily paper-piece elements into your design. Card design credit to: M. Martinez.

*Each kit also includes the same business supplies that are found in the standard Starter Kit (the Home Décor-Focused Starter Kit also includes 25 Décor Elements brochures). While all items in the Starter Kits are recommended, a new demonstrator may substitute a like item of equal or lesser value.

If you are not a demonstrator already and love stamping, read on:
I think the standard starter kit is the best deal. Yes, it is $199 but you get SO much more for your stampin’ dollars! You’ll get over $300 just in the stampin’ goodies PLUS they are giving away an extra stamp set - any price - free with the large starter kit.

There are options to being a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator. I signed up 5 years ago just for the discount. Hey, at the very least it covers tax and shipping and a little extra. I have demonstrators in my downline who signed up just to get the discount plus some of the other great perks too. It's OK! When they have enough stamps and supplies, they can drop anytime. No penalties, no forms to send in, it just happens automatically if they stop meeting their quarterly minimums. ($300 retail)

If you want to earn a little extra, you can get your stampin’ buddies together once a month or once a quarter and collectively place orders. You can be your own hostess! Not many companies let you do that so take advantage of that! If you want to earn a lot, you can step it up and have some workshops or classes a few times a week. Depending upon your schedule you can make SU fit YOUR wants and needs. Not many companies offer that.

Ok, so now you are thinking about it a little. Who do you sign up with?
It’s okay to interview potential uplines! Ask those important questions like What kind of support do they give? Is there a benefit of signing up with them over someone else? How often will you see or hear from them after you sign up and/or do you want to hear from them at all? Your upline should be able to assist you with any questions you have and offer you support.

There are other perks to being a demonstrator. The monthly magazine, the demo only website, getting to see and order the new stuff early and the discount of course. There are also various opportunities to get free stamps and free products from various SU demonstrator contests as well as the Great Rewards program and more.

I’d be happy to answer any questions - just ask away and if I don’t know the answer, I’ll find it for you! Just click on the "EMAIL ME" off to the right side!

Sizziz - Totally Awesome Shirt!

Oh My Gosh! Talk about something totally cool. Check out what this Sizzix employee did to her official "sizzix" shirt for the SU convention. It showcases just another really COOL! way to incorporate your scrapping and cardmaking gear into all crafting aspects!!

She did it by ironing fusible webbing onto the fabric first. Then cut it with the Big Shot, then ironed it onto her shirt.

Think of the possibilities that opens up... Quilts, Fabric Table cloths, Fabric napkins, baby clothes/bibs, fabric purses all with SU designs!! WOOOHOOOO!

More Sizzix & SU samples!

Stampin’ Up! welcomes Sizzix!

In a partnership move with Sizzix, Stampin' Up! is now carrying the "Big Shot" and exclusive dies designed by Stampin’ Up!

Yes, this is an official Sizzix "Big Shot" BUT it comes in a cool black and features *exclusive* Stampin’ Up! dies AND you can order regular Sizzix dies from me which can earn FREE hostess sets and benefits.

In an incredible move (no doubt meant to rob my children of their college fund) they are offering a matching Stampin’ Up! bag (It's so CUTE!) This adorable ‘party’ spread was made with our exclusive dies. Some amazing person thought of alternate uses for the dies to make masks and party stuff (I will be reduced to CASING it).

Some facts: I have dies from other companies; can I use them with the Big Shot? Yes, you can. The Big Shot is the most versatile die-cutting machine on the market today. Using the multi-purpose platform, you can use dies, embossing plates, and other products from a wide variety of sources.
What materials can I cut with the Big Shot? You can cut over 50 types of material using the Big Shot. A good rule of thumb is that if you can cut the material with your Craft & Rubber scissors, you can cut it with the Big Shot.

Is the Big Shot exclusive to Stampin’ Up!?
No, the Big Shot machine is not exclusive to Stampin’ Up! However, the Big Shot produced for Stampin’ Up! features a handle color as well as a beautiful logo that are not available on any other version of the Big Shot. In addition to the hundreds of dies already available through Sizzix, they’ve created dies exclusive to Stampin’ Up! And, as we continue to develop this product line, you’ll see more and more Stampin’ Up! exclusive dies.
