Kids Craft Class - Feel Better Soon Gift
I had a craft class this week with the kiddo's at the elementary school. We did a "Feel Better Soon" gift bag.
They got to choose from 4 different colors of bags and then I had already pre-cut the c/s panels down to the correct size for them. Next up was stamping the images of choice and coloring them in and attaching them to the front and back of the gift bag. Finally, they got to go "fill the bag" with all kinds of goodies to make a sick friend/teacher/relative feel better. If they wanted to add some ribbon or make a bow on the handle they could do that too.
Included in the bag:
1 large winter themed mug (big enough for a nice mug of soup!)
1 large bag of cough drops
1 travel pack size of Kleenex
1 Chapstick
1 Hand sanitizer
1 pouch instant cream of chicken soup
1 pouch instant chicken noodle soup
1 gourmet cocoa pouch
1 hot cider pouch
The kids really seemed to love coloring the images and designing the layout for them.

2012 Goals...update - January's Christmas cards!
Just a quick update, I completed my January cardmaking goal of making 10 Christmas cards a month by October 2012. Woohoo! Oh! I made 14 of them too, so I am ahead right? - LOL. Not too sure I am feeling the simplicity of them, but sometimes simple is better - right?? (At least that is what I am telling myself!) HA!
I saw a similar design online to this. For mine, I changed it up and added a red mat and left the edges blank (no extra fro-frou edging/embossing.) It's kinda hard to tell in the scan, but I put diamond stickles on the roof tops to give the effect of glistening snow.
I should have a date set for January's stamp camp in the next day or so. I am looking towards the end of the month as I will still need time to prepare! Hope you get some stamping/crafting time in this weekend!

Pink and Brown Note cards
I made a ton of these quick and easy pink and brown note cards on New Year's Day.
No stamping involved on these and I didn't put any kind of sentiment either as I wanted them to be able to be used for a variety of things and you aren't gonna believe how they started out! Everyone knows that I love a good deal. I picked up quite a few packs of monogrammed note cards with cute coordinating pink envies on clearance. I loved the pink/brown colors together, but wasn't thrilled with the monogram (plus I got a bunch of them that didn't have my initials on them or initials from anyone I knew.) So, a quick little revamp was in order! I cut about 1/4 inch from 4 sides (splitting them in 1/2) along the way. (This way I would be able to make sure that I could still use the pink envies!) Then I used the note card fronts and backs as "decorative paper" to make the mat onto my white card. I was able to use up a bunch of these dark colored adhesive backed gem/jewels that I picked up at Michael's a long time ago so I was thrilled.
The punch is the Doily Triple Layer punch from Stampin' Up and it's on pretty in pink c/s and it's matted to chocolate chip c/s from Stampin' Up! Easy peasy! (For those wondering, the medallion piece covers up where the monogrammed letter was.) So now from 1 set of 8 note cards, I was able to create 16 note cards. 8 of them will use the pink envies that came with the original set and the other 8 will use my regular standard card envies!

Stamping/Crafting Goals for 2012...
While you are busy making your New Year's resolutions, don't forget to add in some "stamping/crafting" ones too! For me, I personally want to make 10 Christmas cards each month through October. That way I will have 100 of them DONE before November 1st 2012! I don't know if I will make them all the same each month or vary it up or what. I think it will depend upon how "pressed for time" I get. Anyhow, I plan to post an update every month when I get mine done (along with a picture), so stay tuned for that.
Besides making more stamping/crafting time, I also want to attempt to use up some of my stockpile....I definitely need to get a better handle on that. My DD was working on cleaning up her desk over the holiday break so she has more room to "create"...I need to follow her lead and clean up/organize everything. That's the LONG range plan that I will work on slowly.
Anyhow, hope everyone that returns to work today has a good day back and at least it will be a short week for most people! I will post a picture of some quickie note cards I made over the holiday break tomorrow!
