More quick birthday cards

I decided to clean up a small corner of where I "collect" just a tiny portion of my stamp "stuff" and in doing so I came across some non-su orange c/s that I just wanted to use up. I am proud to say I managed to get some more birthday cards done AND use up a whopping 2 sheets of 12x12 paper in the process...2 12x12 designer pieces down, 100 million sheets to go...hehehe. Seriously, I have a bunch of different "slabs" or "bricks" or whatever you want to call those "multi-packs" of designer paper and I love the fact that I can always find something to go with my different colors/shades of images and cardstocks (I just need to use them more!!)

Cards from Kits

This past Christmas I received one of those "all in 1 card kits". You know the kind...there are prefolded cards, envies, some embellishments, stickers etc. Well, I noticed that my bag of cards that I pull from was running low on birthday cards so I figured I would crack open the kit and create some quick cards. All told, it took me longer to find a punch or two and locate some extra ribbon than it did to make these cards - LOL. I grabbed my box of scraps (which included several images ready to use) and made only a couple of mats and kept everything very basic, just accenting with sponging and glitter on some images. Some of the sentiments came with the card kit and a few were stamped. I had the cards done in less than 1 1/2 hours. It was simple and fast. Enjoy and hope it inspires you!

Teacher Thank you gifts

These are the cards that I made multiple sets of for my kids teacher's to close out the school year. I also made a class album (in triplicate) for my daughter's Kindergarten teachers. (The reason it is in triplicate is because when I showed my daughter what I had started, she wanted one too!) I won't put pictures of the album up on my blog due to the kids pictures/names, but if you want to check it out, just ask to view it at one of my stamp camps! It was VERY simple and used a ton of clip art, quotes and a smidgen of stamping.

Anyhow, back to the thank you notes, I stuck with the same design and chose coordinating color schemes and added glitter glue to the roses for the sparkle. The note cards are actually blank store-bought sets by Martha Stewart. I loved the fact that they have a bit of a sheen to the border of them and are smaller than the standard size card. I picked most of the colors of the flowers by utilizing my color wheel and the "dynamic duo" area in the center. It is fantastic!

Here's the recipe:
Note cards: Martha Stewart
Sets: Roses in Winter, Warmest Regards
Ink: Certainly Celery, Groovy Guava, Apricot Appeal, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise, Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst
