Holiday Cards - no stamping!

Took a break from cleaning up to play today :)
I actually found all these supplies in a stack of holiday "stuff" that I think I probably touched this past Spring when I got my holiday cards done. (Sheepish grin.) So, while we were watching a movie, I colored the images and cut them out. Then I simply attached the sticker sentiment, ribbon, decorative paper and embossed c/s to the white card with the colored image and viola - instant card.

The penguin and santa images are two of my favs :)
Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend before it is back to work/school!

Dasher

Here's a nice card using one of my favorite new SU stamps - Dasher.
See how simply by adding the partial circle behind the reindeer it can change the whole feel of the card? I love the "snow crested" hills (thank you to dazzling diamonds for that!) and the slight yellow tinge around the moon...love that effect too!

Stamp Sets: Dasher and Christmas Punch (hostess set)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's a great card from a recent swap I did. I love that the flower is from a Valentine's themed set and gets "double duty" here . The sentiment are two different ones put together. The ribbon piece is a small "leftover" that most people would have thrown out, but I kept and it ties in the the overall scheme of things with the browns.

Hope your Turkey Day is filled with yummy food and great family memories!

Peppermint Patty Spiders from Kids Class

I neglected to post these from a kids class I did back in October. They were a HUGE hit with the kids. (Anything involving candy usually is - LOL!) You need to use the small peppermint patties that are individually wrapped in foil...don't use the ones in the foil "rectangular packets" that you tear open...you need the ones in the foil that is folded around the patty and you peel off.

Again, I missed out on pictures of the kids and these are samples from other people...but you get the drift. The kids tweaked theirs alot and made designs (think stars, hearts, dollar signs etc.) for the eyes...they were very unique.

If you don't like the 3-D spider, simply create the spider as a 1-D embellishment for the front of a halloween card :)

You can use a nose or not, create the same colored legs or different and tweak them as much as you want. I think they are adorable :)

Altered Notebook/Journal

Here's my version of an altered notebook/journal we did at my kids crafting class at the local school. Unfortunatley I did not get pictures of the other kids journals. They were FANTASTIC. I gave them the basic color scheme and then let them go to it with the glitter, glue, embellishments, punches, jems/jewels, buttons, ribbons, decorative papers etc. It was so neat to see how each of the girls made their journals their own by using the different materials. The size of the journal was 5x7 and I applied a layer of sealant over it when I was done so I wouldn't have glitter flaking off of it.

11/27 Stamp Camp canceled

Hey Everyone - thanks SO MUCH for responding so quickly that you can't make the stamp camp on 11/27. It makes it easier on me to cancel it now than delay since I have heard from the majority of my regulars that they can't make it.

With that said, I honestly know that I CAN'T have a stamp camp in on a Friday night before the New Year...it's pure craziness here and you know I have massive family arriving in December for an extended stay.

If I am able to squeeze a stamp camp together, it would have to be on a weekend and those are busy enough as it is around the holidays for most people. (If you REALLY want to stamp on a weekend drop me an email and I will set something up - even if it is just a few cards/not an actual camp.) From this weekend through mid-December I need to get into "clean up" mode and figure out what to do with everything, but I can always take a break and stamp! I am just so happy I did the bulk of my Christmas cards back in JAN/FEB/MARCH of this year because there is NO WAY I could get them done now!

Anyhow, stay tuned on the blog as I will try to hit your in-boxes every couple of days with appropriate themed cards/projects. I just finished a decorated journal/notebook for a class that I am doing at the local Elem. school Wed. afternoon. Once the layer of sealer dries on it I will get a picture and post it on Wednesday!!
