Going going gone...retiring list posts on 6/1

June 1st is a HUGE day for all the Stampin’ Up demonstrators. Our Last Chance retiring stamp set list comes out AS WELL AS the RETIRING accessories list. This is really important…if you have purchased any of the In Colors this past year and want to have the ink refills, paper, ribbon or other coordinating items, get them now! Seriously!!

On June 1st, they are available only while supplies last. You don’t want to have to end up paying $10 or more on Ebay next year when you need to refill your ink pad and the color is retired. The SU standard 48 colors are fine to order anytime – just the SU special 6 IN COLORS that change yearly are going away.

In June 1st, SU is also have a retiring "sale" on SOME of the accessories...some will be UP to 50% off....but remember with discounts like that you will want to order RIGHT AWAY as soon as the list comes out since I am sure many things will sell out in the first few hours.

Remember - you can order directly from my SU website at: www.juliesaylor.stampinup.net

Also: don't forget to check the SU website at www.stampinup.com right away on Monday, June 1st for that retiring list! (It could take a couple of hours before it shows up on my SU website, so be sure to check the MAIN SU website right away!!)

DD's Thank you notes

This weekend DD worked on her Thank you notes for her birthday. She stamped them all by herself. I had to punch out the oval scallops for her, but everything else is all done by her. We kept them pretty simple since she also had to write all of them :)

CHANGE IN PLANS FOR THE SCRAPPING!!!

CHANGE IN PLANS....I just got a call from Alex. The kids aren't going to have the pictures until later this week or NEXT weekend. They still have to meet and choose which pictures they want for the scrapbook etc. Soooo, Tuesday night is canceled. Once Alex gets the pictures, I will schedule another day/time :)
Stay tuned!!!

An invitation to assist with a scrapbook....

Here's the back story....

Our dear stamping friend Alex has never scrapbooked before. She found out today that her teenaged son volunteered her to do a photo album for the church youth group of their past mission trip to Brazil. (They leave in June on this years mission trip to Brazil and the album has to be done sometime mid June so they can take it with them.) Needless to say Alex is freaked out since she has never scrapped before. The girls here tonight volunteered their time and some supplies to help get it done.

We are starting on Tuesday night (5/26)...5:30pm at my house. If you want to come and help we would love to have you. I will provide the food and some c/s and any inks/stamps and punches we need, Lori has donated the scrapbook and decorative paper, Dulce has some c/s and we will figure out the rest as we go. We are making it up as we go along and going to attempt to get the album started and the more people the merrier :)

My assumption is that we will also have the album here on Friday night too (during the stamp camp time for anyone that wants to work on it too.) I honestly have no clue how this is going to come out or we each just take some pages or what, but it's National Scrapbooking month so it fits that we pull together and volunteer some time to get a scrapbook done.

If you can make it on Tuesday, just give me a shout....and if you want to bring anything...you are more than welcome too :) Hope to see you here!!

DD's birthday invitations

My dear daughter's (DD for short!)birthday is coming up and with everything going on, I needed to make the invitations fast. I pulled these together on a Sunday evening after everyone was in bed. I ran out of the yellow c/s that I used and compensated with some blue. The images are colored clipart and the sentiment is computer generated. Both the oval punch and scallop punch are from Stampin' Up!. I used a computer to generate the text for the inside of the inviation.

Teacher Appreciation Gifts - Round 4

The kids had TEACHER APPRECIATION for their respective teachers last week. Each day was a different theme for the day. On Monday, they brought in a vase with fresh flowers - sorry - no pictures of those!

Tuesday was the day for "edible treats" for the teachers. I gave the suggestont to parents the choice of "fresh fruit" or any "edible treat". This is what I came up with. It's a cute plastic see through "paint can", complete with its very own "washer" to open or "POP" the lid off. The can lid is a metallic blue color. I cut out a scallop and just wrote a quick note to the teacher and stuck it on top....(it is not meant to be part of the package, so that's why it doesn't color coordinate.) It also mentions to the teacher to "save the empty can" since she will need it for Friday's treats.

Then, I filled the tin with a special bag of "thank you" Hershey Kisses, a special bag of gourmet M&M's that are a marbled blue metallic color, and finally some mint reception sticks wrapped in silver. I tried to stay with the blue/silver theme for the treats. I then quickly used my cuttlebug and SU Sizzix Dies to cut out some flowers and stuck them on the can/container. I also tied on some ribbons to the metal handle. SUPER SIMPLE & QUICK.

Teacher Appreciation Gifts - Round 3

Continuation of cards....These are some of the cards that I included in a teacher appreciation gift for one of the CCD teachers. I was able to get 10 cards done super fast after my last stamp camp. I started on the cards at 11:30pm and finished before 1am. (The 2 things that took me the most time were cutting out the stained glass images and then locating a decent coordinated ribbon.) Thankfully I still have a HUGE bag from my trip last year to a ribbon outlet. All of the non-grosgrain ribbon came from the outlet. I plan to head back up there in the early summer and will let you all know when I go :)

Dranesville Elementary Silent Auction

Here are all of the details on the DES (Dranesville Elementary School) Silent Auction. This is just one of the many things that has been consuming a large amount of my time the past few months. (I am the DES silent auction co-chair.) We are also celebrating the schools 20th Anniversary during the silent auction. There will be free cake and punch served in the cafeteria along with free entertainment from the local high school (band, strings, madrigals).

There will also be a raffle including a Stampin' Up! basket of goodies (donated by me!) Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the event and each item in the raffle will have a separate "box" that the raffle slips go into. (That way you only put your raffle tickets into whatever items you want to try to win!)

Class projects are up for bid in the silent auction as well as themed baskets by each grade level and numerous items that have generously been donated by local organizations/businesses. I donated a 2nd basket of SU goodies as well for the auction portion of the evening. As soon as the auction booklet is finalized, I will post the link to it so you can preview it :) There is NO COST to attend the auction, so come on out with your friends and family and have some fun for the evening.
Location: Dranesville Elementary School
Address: 1515 Powells Tavern Place, Herndon VA
Date: Friday, MAY 15th, 2009
Time: 5pm - 8pm (Auction sections begin closing at 6:30pm and end at 7:15pm) So make sure you are there early to bid on items!
Checkout/Payment & Pickup of items: 7:30 - 8pm

A small sampling of some of the great items up for auction bid: Garden basket, Spa Basket, Candle basket, Stampin' Up Basket!, Avon Basket, Arts/Crafts Basket, Outdoor Fun basket, Travel Basket, Games/DVD Basket, Gift Certificates to restaurants, Wine Tour, Will Package, Trader Joe's Basket, Harris Teeter Gift Cert., Wegmans Gift Card, Let's Dish Gift Card, Jiffy Lube Services, Salon Services/Products at various local Salons, Bread for a Year at Panera, Great Harvest Bread Company Basket, Bowling Party, Golfing, Ice Skating, Private Tour at the National Zoo! for 10 people, Luray Caverns tour, Mount Vernon Tour, Kings Dominion Tickets, Canoe Trip on the Shenandoah, Limousine Service, Redskins Basket, DC United Basket and so much more!!

Stamp Camp Card # 1 - Owl Card

We had a blast at stamp camp last night - (even those of us who were dead on our feet and yawning most of the time!) This month is super crazy again for me especially with the school year dwindling down and I am co-charing our PTA silent auction! I donated 2 SU baskets of "goodies" to the silent auction this year. 1 is for the raffle portion and the other will be accepting "bids" and go to the highest bidder. If you are interested in attending, I will put all the details about the auction on another post later this weekend. Mark your calendars now though...it is on 5/15 at Dranesville Elementary School.

Here's the first card we did and it was a huge hit - especially with graduation season fast approaching! It can be used for so many other occasions too though. Even a Father's Day card - you know...like "wise old Dad" :) Here are all of the details:

Stamps: Congratulations (SAB 2009)
Cardstock: So Saffron, Tangerine Tango
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Top Note Die, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 ¾ circle punch, round tab punch, boho blossom punch, ¾ circle punch, star punch, googly eyes, Glue dots
