Stamp Camp Card #1 Watercolor Garden

My September stamp camp is tonight, so I am queing this post up in the am, but it won't go "live" until about 9:30pm EST (right when my early bird batch of stampers should be finishing up or so).

This card was my creation based off of a card I received in a swap, but I soon realized that I didn't have the set from the swap card. So, I went to my basement and found a nice work-around set that I think works well. I really liked the added dimension the card has with the single popped-up flower on a stampin' dimensional.

Recipe:
Sets: Watercolor Garden, More Great Greetings (Both are retired)
C/S: White, Always Artichoke
Ink: Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Basic Brown
Accessories: Stampin Dimensionals, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, Non-SU Decorative Paper

Back to School/Teacher Appreciation

I wanted to do something to welcome the kids teachers this year and start off on a positive note. I had something "brewing" in the back of my mind for the past couple of weeks and kept putting it off thinking I still had plenty of time....then low and behold at 8:15pm tonight I realized that ACK! I never made "the stuff". Sooooo, I very quickly whipped these together. (My original plan was to have everything scrapped and stamped...well, you can see how I took a quicker way out since I was running short on time.)

I altered an empty plastic mayonaise jar by adding a strip of decorative paper and using some school clipart. The stickers were a last minute addition from a previous school project. The ribbons were simply tied around the neck of the jar and the a tag looped onto them. What's inside? Well, that's in the 4 pc. picture....I took peppermint patties and the SU scallop punch and made them look cuter with more school themed clipart. By the way, DH hates that I now want to save every kind of glass and plastic jar that has a lid for a potential project :) Another option is to put skewers through the candy and make them be "flowers" in a flower pot...but that will be for another project some day!

The note card took all of about a minute and 1/2 to just mat the clipart, wrap a ribbon and tie on some additional ribbon and then stamp a sentiment. I giggled about using the "Hooray" sentiment since I don't know how much the teachers are thinking "Hooray" or if it is more ME thinking "Hooray" now that school is back in session.

My favorite part of it is the "personalized" stationary that again used school clipart and then tied with a pretty ribbon too. My original plan was to do a stationary folder for the notes, but then I realized that I needed to sharpen 60 pencils and had to jump onto that. Oh and here's another nice laugh...at 11:53pm, I realized I had forgotten to make the coordinating hair bows to match my DD's dress...so there I was with the hotglue gun and ribbons doing my thing.

Anyhow, hopefully this helps you realize that no matter if you stamp, use computer/clipart, paint/draw, scrap or something else, you can make something from the heart that will hopefully brighten someone's days.
